REDWOOD CAMPUS
Rogue Community College has spent the past year examining the conditions and needs of its facilities. The college has undergone a rigorous engagement process with students, staff, and industry experts to assess the physical condition of buildings and identify areas of need. As a result of this process, the college’s four greatest areas of need were identified as:
- Meet Local Demand for Skilled Workers
- Repair Aging Buildings
- Improve Safety and Security
- Update Outdated Learning Environments
What are the current conditions of Redwood Campus?
Rogue Community College’s Redwood Campus has rapidly expanded due to increased demands in workforce training. If passed, Measure 17-119 would update facilities to support the region’s hiring demands as Josephine County’s primary career, technical, and transfer education provider in Grants Pass.
What would happen if the Proposed Measure passes?
The proposed measure, if passed, would raise $60.3 million for Rogue Community College and fund the following projects at Redwood Campus:
New Transportation Technology Center
Construct a new Transportation Technology Center to upgrade and expand automotive training at RCC and add diesel and select support for EV technology training.
Industrial Technology Modernization
Renovate an existing building to expand the Industrial Technology program, growing RCC’s workforce training in areas such as welding, hydraulics, manufacturing, drafting and schematic design and machine operation.
Coates Hall Modernization
Renovate and update Coates Hall, Redwood’s largest classroom building, to include more technologically equipped classrooms for hybrid instruction and upgrade the building’s HVAC system and restrooms.
Safety & Security Upgrades
Enhance safety and security for students and staff with upgraded camera systems and lockdown capabilities
Allied Health & Emergency Medical Services Renovation
Renovate existing space to add EMS programming, including classrooms, office space, learning laboratories, collaborative learning spaces, storage and restrooms.
Centralize & Expand Student Services
Update, reorganize, and co-locate student services, providing students access to admissions, course registration, financial aid and academic support in one accessible location.
New Campus Operations Service Building
Create space for additional classrooms and labs by consolidating Shipping and Receiving, Facilities and Operations, and IT into one location.
Accessibility Improvements
Upgrade ADA accessibility, ensuring that all students, staff and community members can have equal access to public buildings.
